Silver Magic Band: News

June 1 - June 13

Welcome to all our new Silver Magic Band members and families! We had our parent meeting on Monday, June 1 and our band is looking great for next year!

Our show for Marching Season is "Amazonian Rainforest" by Key Poulan. You can listen to a recording of the music at www.keypoulan.com.

If you or your parents were unable to attend the meeting, please contact Mrs. Hamilton to get the appropriate forms.

Auditions will take place at the following Middle Schools this week:

  • Wednesday - Challenger MS at 3:45pm
  • Thursday - Diplomat MS at 2:30pm

If you are still interested in auditioning for our Wind Ensemble, you will need to come after fundamentals camp on Thursday (freshmen), Friday, or Saturday.

Winter Guard Competition Itinerary 2/27

Location: Colonial High School

 

7:45 a.m.: Call time – Be dressed in all black for practice, EAT BREAKFAST BEFORE PRACTICE!!!!!! Inspection will begin at 7:45

8:00 – 10:30 Practice

11:15am – Leave Mariner high school

**On bus ride eat Lunch, put on makeup and do hair. ***

3:00 – approximate arrival at University high school. Unload equipment, use bathrooms

5:21 – PERFORMANCE

6:00 – 9:00 Sit in stands to watch other color guards

10:10 back to buses

2:00 a.m. approximate arrival at Mariner high school.

 

Other information:

Only official chaperones for this event will be permitted to ride on the bus with the students. All families are welcome to come support the color guard!

JAZZ BAND RAIN UPDATE - December 5, 2009

The Jazz Band will not be performing for the European Business Council Holiday Market  from 1-2pm due to the weather.

The new call time is 4:30pm.  We will rehearse at the school and depart for the Cape Coral Festival of Lights at 6:30pm. 

The performances for the Festival of Lights event from 7:30-9:15 p.m. remains as scheduled.

Welcome Back! - August 23, 2009

Welcome back to school!  As everyone adjusts to the return of homework and academics, please remember that the marching band rehearsal schedule returns to 2:30 p.m.-6:00 p.m.  If you are not signed up for band, please see Mrs. Hamilton and your guidance counselor to correct your schedule.

We have only 4 rehearsals until our first performance against Cape Coral HS at our home football stadium!  Make sure your dot books are up to date, and come to rehearsals prepared and ready to perform!

Schedule change:  The Riverdale HS football game and band middle school night will be on Thursday, September 24 instead of Friday due to the hurricane make up day.  Please mark your calendars.  The rehearsal for Friday will be moved to 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

REHEARSAL THURSDAY - August 19, 2009

Thursday 8/20 - 2:30-5:30 p.m., pick up by 6 p.m.

Thank you to everyone for your hard work on Tuesday, and please take every precaution to avoid illness!  Wash your water bottle, do not share your water, wash your hands, DO NOT COME TO PRACTICE IF YOU ARE SICK (make sure you email Mrs. Hamilton if this is the case).

Do not forget your dot book, water bottle, music, instrument, white t-shirt, athletic shoes, and sunscreen.  As regular rehearsals begin, we must maintain our focus and make every rehearsal productive!  We have a lot of drill left to learn; let's get ready to hit the ground running for tomorrow's practice!
