I hope everyone has had a relaxing and enjoyable summer break!  It is time to start the 2009-2010 season off with summer band camp.  The full camp schedule is outlined in the "Band Camp Info 2009" link above.

WEEK 1

ALL Guard and Percussion - August 3-7, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Officers Only– Monday, August 3, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Leadership and Freshmen Only– Tuesday, August 4, 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.

FULL BAND – August 5-7, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The Band Parent Meeting will take place on MONDAY, August 3 at 6:00 p.m. in the band room.  Please note that the date was incorrect on the original handout.  I apologize for the inconvenience.

Please bring in baked goods for the Prism Concert Bake Sale! The Concert is Tuesday, May 19 at 7pm. (Bring all items to the band office for storage during the day.)

There are many great summer music camps available that offer incredible experiences for high school musicians. The following camp is just down the street at FGCU.

FGCU will be hosting a summer wind and percussion camp in June. The camp is directed by Dr. Chesnutt in partnership with teh Boston Brass. Please take a look at the flier in the link below for more information and registration information. The number of participants is limited, so register soon if you are interested.

Indoor Percussion Ensemble will rehearse THURSDAY and FRIDAY from 5:30-7:30pm, and compete on Saturday at Thomas Jefferson HS (call time 12:30pm)

Leadership will meet Thursday from 3-4pm.

Congratulations to the Concert Band and Wind Ensemble for their performances on Saturday at the FBA MPA.

The Concert Band received an overall EXCELLENT rating.

The Wind Ensemble was one of 2 Lee County bands to receive a SUPERIOR rating, and is qualified to perform at the State MPA in April. The state performance date will be between April 20-24.
