Mariner High School Silver Magic Band: News

WE WILL NOT HAVE REHEARSALS MONDAY, TUESDAY, AND WEDNESDAY THIS WEEK DUE TO FCAT.

Indoor Percussion Ensemble will rehearse THURSDAY and FRIDAY from 5:30-7:30pm, and compete on Saturday at Thomas Jefferson HS (call time 12:30pm)

Leadership will meet Thursday from 3-4pm.

Congratulations to the Concert Band and Wind Ensemble for their performances on Saturday at the FBA MPA.

The Concert Band received an overall EXCELLENT rating.

The Wind Ensemble was one of 2 Lee County bands to receive a SUPERIOR rating, and is qualified to perform at the State MPA in April. The state performance date will be between April 20-24.

Congratulations to the Silver Magic Indoor Percussion Ensemble for an outstanding season!

The percussion ensemble presented a great performance on Saturday, and placed 3rd at the FFCC Championship.

We will resume normal rehearsals immediately following the Winter Break on Monday, January 5, 2009.

We will be preparing for FBA District Solo and Ensemble on February 6-7 and District Concert Band MPA in March. If the band receives a superior rating they will qualify to perform for the State Concert Band MPA at North Port HS in April.

The Winter Concert is fast approaching! Please review the schedule below for all rehearsal dates and times. Percussionists are required to attend the rehearsals on Monday 12/15.

CONCERT DRESS:

Gentlemen - Black dress shirt, black dress pants, black socks, black dress shoes, holiday ties and Santa hats are permitted

Ladies - Black dress shirt (3/4 length or longer), black pants or full length skirt/dress, black dress shoes (close toe preferred), Santa hats are permitted

Congratulations to the Silver Magic Marching Band for the successful completion of the 2008 marching season!

The band came in 8th place out of 23 bands in the competitive AA division semi-finals.
